Natasha Invites Akpabio to Project Inauguration in Kogi

In what appears to be a significant step toward reconciliation, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) has extended an invitation to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other lawmakers to attend the inauguration of her constituency projects in Kogi State.
The development surprised many observers, given the frosty relationship between both senators earlier in the year.
The invitation was made public on Wednesday, October 30, when Akpabio read Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s letter during plenary. The letter, personally signed by the Kogi senator, invited her colleagues to Ihima, Kogi State, on Sunday for the commissioning of several constituency projects to mark her second anniversary in the Senate.
After reading the letter, a visibly pleased Akpabio congratulated his colleague, saying, “Congratulations in advance.”
The invitation is widely seen as a peace gesture and a possible end to the rift between the two lawmakers, which had led to Akpoti-Uduaghan’s six-month suspension from the Senate on March 6 following a heated disagreement over seat reallocation.
She served the suspension and was reinstated in September, resuming her legislative duties.
Observers say the Senate President’s acknowledgment of her letter in plenary may mark a new phase of cordial relations between both lawmakers.
